Create a navigation bar with a Windows Live Search style.

1. Start by opening a new 500px by 60px file
2. Select the Rectangular Marquee Tool and set a fixed size of 500px*40px

3. Create a new layer and fill it with #005b95

4. Apply these layer style’s to it
- Gradient: #2473a5 to #005b95 to #3585b9 to #7eb1d2

- Stroke: #003150

5. Create a new layer, Ctrl+Click over the first layer thumb to select it, then go to Edit -> Stroke and apply a 1px Center #ffffff Stroke, change this layer’s blend mode to Soft Light and opacity to 70%

6. Create a new layer, Ctrl+Click over the first layer thumb to select it, then select the Gradient Tool with a White to Transparent gradient and make a gradient from bottom to top in the lower part of the selection

7. Change this layer’s blend mode to Overlay

8. Add your text links to it, I’m using Myriad Pro 12pt in #ffffff

9. Create a new layer and place it under your text layer. Select the Rectangular Marquee Tool and set a fixed size of 70*20px. Fill your selection with #0086bf

10. Apply these layer styles to it
- Inner Shadow: #aadcec

- Outer Glow: #61a0c9

- Gradient: #37b1e4 to #0086bf

- Stroke: #000000

@Asholi: I bet you’re stuck at the “Ctrl+click over the layr thumb”, that means that you need to click over the layer image in the layerspanel while pressing ctrl.

Im lost at step number 4

@Poloy: You need to open the Layer Styles(doble click the layer) and go to Gradient Overlay.

The font is commercial but is also a standard font of Windows Vista. Good tut!

The standart font is Calibri in Vista

The Vista standard font is Segoe UI, the Office 2007 standard font is Calibri and Myriad Pro is the standard font of Adobe, included in Ps CS2-CS3.
