Create a Retro Style text effect in a very easy way with Layer Styles
1. Start by opening a new file, size doesn’t matter but I will be using 350px * 150px
2. Select the Text Tool and write “Retrocloud” or whatever you’ll like. I’m using Nougat, 50pt and #fff600 as color
3. Now apply these layer styles
- Drop Shadow
- Inner Shadow: #ff9c00
- Outer Glow
- Inner Glow
- Gradient Overlay: #ffea00 to #fff95e
- Stroke: #df9000
4. You can add a slogan and use it as a logo for your site. I’m using Myriad Pro, Semibold Italic and #b4b4b4. And it’s finished, your text should look like this

I really like the outcome. The colors are great. Could you sample some other colors combos that give off that retro look? It would be great.
